The season to be jolly!

I so L*O*V*E this time of year...For lots of reasons, but mainly...
Hand-made, Hot deep filled mince pies made by my own fair hands...with sprinkles of icing sugar.
Fairy lights twinkling on the tree...I just love that early morning first switch on of the fairy lights!- I'm like a child in a sweet shop standing there in that moment of time gazing at them- Magical.
Speaking to my Father on the East coast knowing he's booked his Ticket to Devon for the Christmas holidays...Happy feeling inside.

Walking around my favourite place to visit across the moor's and enjoying the pretty views, beautiful houses that I dream of owning and think what I'd do to them if I did...Locally, lovely, independent, family run shops with traditional Christmas window displays...

Visiting a favourite church...Praying for health and happiness.
Lighting candles.

Fun of the Christmas market and fair ground rides.

Opening more Advent swapsie parcels from Marina.

Wonderful Vintage lady bird books, Cath Kidston soaps, hand made soaps and Christmas decorations.

A beautiful Christmas tin filled with my favourite choc's!...Thanks again Marina.

Walking into the Kitchen on a Sunny bright Morning and looking at all the Christmasy things.

I just L*O*V*E this time of year...

Seasons greetings,

x Kazzy x

P.s do tell me all about your festivities...I'd love to read your comments.

The tree tonight...All the twinkly lights.

  1. I do LOVE your blog, I do believe it is my favorite!! I tell the girls at work about your posts and recipes. Love Love Love the pictures!!

I want to try and make your yorkshire Parkin. Here in the states I would have to use Molasses and sorghum. I did find the treacle and gold syrup on Amazon.com though. That would be a treat to bring into work come to think of it...with all the correct ingredients??? Yea....that would be festive AND different!!

    Ho Ho Ho!! janie

  14. I love those twinkling lights as well! This is such a wonderful time of year but I think, when living where you do, or maybe even everywhere in England, makes Christmas even more wonderful. Love that window display, so very British, not something we see around here. There's something about English style and Christmas; they somehow make the best combination. Love you warm post.
    Have a beautiful new week,
    Marian

  15. Your home looks magical and so warm and inviting. Your pictures are so expressive adn really show your style and lovely nature. I seem to be the only person who loves this time of year but feels completly lost and bewildered, probably living with 3 boys who arent that bit interested in the decoration and 'snugglyness' that comes with the wonderful feeling of christmas. My decoratins all feel a bit of a letdown this year but it is a first christmas in this house and I am getting a feel for the house in general. So I am living my christmas cheer through yours and others lovely blogs xxxx

Oh and turning on the Christmas tree lights first thing in the morning!!! My personal favorite, I switched them on this morning while the children ate their breakfast and there were instant smiles in the house!

  24. Ooohhh i'm so glad you're enjoying your swap parcels :) - I'm loving mine too - it's the first thing I do before i've even had my morning cup of tea - open my parcel - i'm like a child! thank you again xx
Reading your post has really made me want to get our christmas decorations up -but i can't until our house move - which is supposed to be happening this Thursday - but in fact looks like it might not even happen before Christmas now :( - problems with solicitors on the other side, nothing to do with us but it's so frustrating! I want my decorations & tree up! Your little parcels really have brightened up these frustrating, stressful days! xx

  25. Oh I so so so love your blog. The photos are beautiful and I don't know what the soup is but it looks scrumptious!!!
My Christmas is slowly gearing up. We love the smell of our new Christmas tree, our little twinkling fairy lights, my girlies faces when they open up their advent calender to eat their choccies before school. I love receiving Christmas cards, technology is great for some things but I adore post!
I think the best thing we all enjoy in this house about the lead up to Christmas are the Christmas movies. Oh the joys.
    Merry Christmas! xxxx

  26. Your tree looks lovely and all that festive goodness. I'm still failing awfully - the tree is still in the garden, but in my defence I am waiting for a strong man to drag it inside for me...it's too darn cold.

  34. So lovely to visit your blog and see all your Christmas decorations. Here in Southern California my Christmas is quite different. There are still roses blooming in my window, and the hummingbirds come to visit the feeder. The lemon tree is full of fruit and soon I will make lemon curd for gifts. Next week my mother, sister, and I will make tamales for our Christmas celebration.
