under the weather...

No

Snow

fell...

Can you believe that most of the Country at some point over the last few weeks has had snow...
But my spot in Devon has had none...

But we've had some rather random weather sleety rain, thunder and lightening, lots of the usual rain and big hailstorms.

Made for some interesting School walks.

Dartmoor which is only a few miles away has had lots of snow and some parts of Cornwall including my Mothers village...Somerset seems worse effected.  Just one day would have been nice, especially as little sweet pea has been praying her hardest for it to snow.

But...

never mind...

Life goes on...

One thing I was not prepared for which hit me very badly this week was the dreaded lurgy...
I'm all topped up on cold & flu capsules and chesty cough medicines. Its completely zapped me of all my energy ~ almost lost my voice and suffering with achy joints and headaches.

But after 3 horrible days of it...I feel I'm on the mend!.
Sweet pea on the other hand is home with me today with her chesty cough.

So I've made us some warming Soup...
Its most definitely a Duvet Day!.

I actually like Devon for its more reasonable temps, but boy' has it been freezzzzing lately!

My heating bill is massive this month- eeeeeeeeekkk!
One night when it was very bitterly cold I couldnt get warm (I am positive that this is when i caught the lurgy!) I went to bed in two jumpers, pj's, woolly socks & slipper boots and a dressing gown over the top and was still cold...

Roll on Spring...

keep snug as a bug in a rug my lovelies,

x Kazzy x

  2. We had loads of snow and it is still here almost a week later! It keeps on freezing with no sign of a thaw. I am wearing so many extra clothes I can hardly move and yet I am still frozen! I too had a huge electric bill that scared me half to death! Not fair, we weren't even that warm! Karla xxx

  3. Hope you and Sweet Pea are all better. Next time you feel you just cannot warm up no matter what you put on, try a shot of brandy with honey and ginger!! It sounds awful, I know, but it works!!! It warms you from inside in no time.
    Stay toasty and well

  4. I'm with you, roll on Spring! In the last few weeks the rain and snow has led us to discover we have a leaky roof, then the washing machine packed up permanently, and woke up yesterday morning to a freezing cold house… broken boiler!! No hot water or heating. Had a very cold night last night but thankfully all fixed today.

However we did have a lovely blanket of snow in Bristol which gave us a few days of pleasure.

Hope you keep warm and both feel better soon :-)

  8. Roll on spring, I Love the winter for 2 reasons.. the first a roaring fire and cosy blankets and the second for what it does for plants & animals. And maybe the sense of renewal and the need to shed my winter coat so to speak BUT that is it.

You are lucky to have escaped the snow, its been bitterly cold on school walks and heating bills gone up and we've used all the logs already :( But very sad for sweetpea who as a child just wants to play in it...sending snow angel wishes her way xx

So sorry to hear you are full of the lurgy, we have just started with it and I am dosing us all up trying to head it off before it takes hold xx

    Keep snug and warm xx

  9. No snow here either, I feel like we've missed the party - I want to go sledging and take lots of snowy photos!
Glad to hear you're on the mend, it's horrible to feel unwell.
Keep warm (as the old folks say!)

  10. No snow!!! I know exactly how you feel! Two years ago when everyone had lots of snow, we didn't! We referred to Huntingdon as 'The Bermuda Triangle of snow'...:) Sorry to hear you've missed out, and that you've been ill. Nothing worse than having to get out into the cold for the school run when you're under the weather! Glad to hear you're on the mend though! Lovely images as always! Stay warm! Tania ♥

  14. Duvet days are the best when the weather's as cold as this Kazzy! Sorry you've both been poorly, a lot of lurgy doing the rounds at the moment. We had a bit of snow on Monday but only lasted half a day, that's fine by me, but hope Sweet Pea gets some soon

    Keep warm and carry on!

    Love from Claire xxx

  15. The Dartmoor snow is wearing a little thin now! Everything takes three times longer to do and I'm fast running out of food. Need to get to a supermarket soon but can't afford to do it in the Land Rover. The car has been snowed in for over a week now. Oh well. It's very beautiful but I think my followers are probably tiring of pictures of it now too! Hope you and Sweet Pea are well Kazzy. x

  16. Get well soon - a duvet day sounds good. For what it's worth, the snow was lovely the first two days, but now it's all grey slushy roads and slippery pavements, and freezing temperatures. My car almost got stuck on a very snowy road today.

  24. I am getting ready to purchase my second heating pad!! Now that my husband and I are "older" we find ourselves both wanting it at the same time. :-)

    Have a JOYful weekend!!

  26. Poor old you with the nasty bug again. They reckon it's going to get warmer soon. Definitely not going for the sexy nighttime look around here either. I've taken to wearing my dressing gown over my clothes when I'm sitting by the fire. You could have had our snow, we wouldn't have minded. The days off school were the best bit, but now we've got a £150 bill to pay for the melting snow that's making our sewage flow everywhere. Grand old days.

Hope this is a good warmer week Kazzy.

    X
